Homemade vegan blueberry cheesecake. Delicious and super easy!
That looks so good! Actually, the computer I’m using doesn’t have any green and just red and blue. But with just the colors red and blue, that looks so good!
I kind of really like this song right now.
My foster sisters daughter, 이화/Lucy, just did they’re dance for me. Soooo cute!
I find it odd that the Harry Potter film franchise has fans lining up for the premiere. I guess I like them, but it’s just like any other film to me.
They are NOTHING compared to books that defined my childhood. I lined up for many a midnight book release, but will probably catch the HP6 movie on Netflix.
You’re weird. Harry Potter is awesome. We like Harry Potter, remember? I tried to find people in korea to go with me to see it but everyone was like, “um no.”
I’ll go see it with you!
Good. I can’t be friends with non-believers. I just took a picture of a Harry Potter poster in Korean. I’m so going to make a lot of Korean friends and go see it with them!

Day 1: Korea Trip
I am finally in Korea!!! I left Sky Harbor Airport at Sunday, 7:25 AM, had a layover in San Francisco, and landed in Korea at Monday, 5:51 PM Seoul time (1:41 AM Arizona time). Losing a 1 1/2 days kind of sucks but I think that its cool that we crossed the time maridian. The whole time I was on the plane, I kept thinking about how we were flying into the next day—it was crazy.
The flight was good! The first half of the flight went by fast because I fell asleep before the flight took off from Phoenix to San Francisco and during most of the layover. On the plane ride to Seoul, I mostly just slept and studied my textbooks from my Korean class. All of the fight attendants’ uniforms were very retro and the remind me of 소녀시대’s current image concept for their single, “Genie”.
Landing was fine, except they had to do health checks which kind of freaked me out because they used this scanner, which made me feel like a robot. We exchanged our currency and rented cell phones. My number is 010-6884-1538. The first thing I did when I got my cell phone was call SeungJin and tell her that I made it to Korea!!! I love SeungJin and I hope we play while I’m in Korea.
When we left the airport it was raining. I read that Korea is going to rain and be really humid while I am here. Anyway, we took a taxi to our hotel and it was really cool experience to drive through Seoul. Our taxi driver, 강승철, loved American sports and America music so he and my dad talked the whole drive there. While they were talking, I just looked at Han River and all the billboards in Seoul. Korean advertisments are dominated by Korean celebrities and I secretly love it. I saw this huge Cylon billboard with everyone from Big Bang and I almost peed in my pants because I’m such a dork.
What is interesting is that every car that I saw while we were driving had a GPS system in it. And while our driver was driving, the car started to beep and he told us that his car beeps when he’s speeding. I wonder if every car does that in Korea. Actually, I’m really curious now.
When we got out of the car, I heard After School’s “Ah” playing on the street and I knew it was going to be a good night. Out hotel is pretty cool. We are staying here for three days before we go stay at the adoption agency. It is located in a really busy part of Seoul.
Ater we settled in, we went to go look for something to eat. Most of the stores and street stands sold women’s clothing. For some reason, there are a lot of Dunkin Donuts and donut stores around. I see them everywhere and it makes me wonder if Koreans are really into donuts or something. I loved how every store were playing K-Pop—Tae Yang, SNSD, 2NE1, Big Bag, and 4minute. Haha, I saw a sunglasses ad that had KimBum in it and I became really happy.
We finally found a place called 유가네 and when we walked in SNSD’s “Genie” was playing. (I don’t know why I get so excited when I hear Korean music in Korea but I do. Maybe I’m just weird.) Everyone was really nice and we ordered fried rice with Chicken, Beef, and “seafood” aka octopus. I’m not that big of a fan of eating Beef and sea-based creatures but whatever, I’m in Korea so I’m just not going to care.
And the coolest thing was that they had a “call” button when you’re ready. I know a call button seems simple but for some reason I thought it was so cool. We ordered Hite beer and Big Bang was on the label—they are freaking everywhere.
That was pretty much my day. I’m really tired so I’m not going to proof-read it. My posts should be more exciting as the trips progress.
